Murder, Mystery, Suspense & Fun at Allenberry
Murder, mystery and suspense are not often used in the same sentence as delicious dinners, fun-filled parties and a
weekend getaway. However, Allenberry Resort Inn & Playhouse has been combining all these elements for 26 years.
Allenberry's Murder Mystery Weekends are the longest-running in the country and keep people coming back year after year for a "killer" good time. Each season Allenberry brings a fresh new theme to their suspense-filled weekends running from the end of October through April 2013.
This year's theme is titled "A Candidate for Murder". When a mysterious accident puts the beloved Mayor of Boiling Springs out of commission, the race is on to find the town's next leader. But as soon as this emergency special election heats up, controversy reigns. One by one, candidates drop out of the race-by dropping dead. The ballot box even gets stuffed-with a corpse. Who's behind this slew of killings? It's up to you to find out. Arrive on Friday for a few days filled with great meals, drama, dancing, fierce political speeches and more. Figure out who-dun-it at Sunday brunch and head home safe and sound.
Allenberry has experience with putting on a show. You'll share the weekend with interesting guests from neighboring towns and those who travel from out of state every year. At brunch you'll learn who's been attending the longest and who came from the farthest away. Not only can you mingle with the other guests but Allenberry's talented staff will pull you into the story and drama and keep you guessing all weekend.
