Located in both Adams and Franklin counties, the 1,125 acre state park midway between Chambersburg and Gettysburg, along the northernmost section of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Take advantage of the over 450 picnic tables located throughout the park or plan for a larger gathering by reserving one of two picnic pavilions.
Hiking: Enjoy 10-miles of trails, including a portion of the Appalachian Trail.
Swimming: A large, ADA-accessible pool is open daily from 11 am to 7 pm from the second Saturday in June until Labor Day (or as posted). NOTE: The pool is closed during the 2021 season due to a lifeguard staffing shortage.
Fishing: Parts of the Conococheague and Rocky Mountain creeks as well as the Carbaugh Run through the Park providing a variety of opportunities for anglers. Brown trout, rainbow trout, native brook trout and some warm-water game fish can be found in these streams.
Hunting and Firearms: 740 acres of the park are open to hunting, trapping and dog training during established seasons. Hunting woodchucks (also known as groundhogs) is prohibited. Dog training is only permitted from the day after Labor Day until March 31 in designated areas. Camping: 175 tent and trailer sites are available in two campgrounds. The season starts the first Friday after March 28 and ends after deer season in December. Click here to explore the campground map.
Environmental Education: A seasonal naturalist offers campfire programs, guided hikes, and environmental education programs during the summer months.
