The Huntsdale Fish Hatchery in Carlisle was built in 1932 and is managed by the PA Fish and Boat Commission. Visitors can stop in the Visitors Center for information and tour the area that includes concrete raceways used for trout production. The site also includes pond rearing and indoor intensive culture of warm/cool water fish. More than 900,000 trout are produced annually at this hatchery.

The visitors center is open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 3:30 pm and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm.

Birding: West of Kings Gap State Park is Enck's Mill Pond and Hidden Pond at the Huntsdale Fish Hatchery. Both host migrating and resident waterfowl, but also watch for a variety of hawks, owls, and woodpeckers, along with wrens, warblers, and other songbirds. More than 150 species have been spotted at Huntsdale.
