Come celebrate 120 years of Rakestraw's ice Cream in downtown Mechanicsburg! Under new ownership in 2023 with lower prices and the old-time ice cream shop experience you remember from your childhood.
Come inside to browse our 32 hand dipped flavors (including NSA and dairy free). We also offer delicious soft serve ice cream! Enjoy your ice cream in a homemade waffle cone, dish, in a sundae or mixed into a milkshake.
Check out our novelty freezer for Italian ice cups, homemade ice cream sandwiches, ice cream cakes and ice cream pies. Don't forget about your four-legged friends and take home a pup cup for them to enjoy.
Rakestraw’s Ice Cream Company Store was founded in 1903 by Roy Rakestraw and stands as one of Mechanicsburg’s oldest operating businesses. Today, the business uses products made by Galliker’s Dairy Co., based out of Johnstown and Hershey Creamery.
