Enjoy hiking, birdwatching, horseback riding and hunting throughout the 2,500 acres of State Game Lands 169 in northwestern Cumberland Valley between Newburg and Newville. The Conodoguinet Creek forms a majority of the southeastern borders. Visitors can wander through riparian, shrub/scrub, grassland, wetland, and deciduous woodland habitats. Free and open to the public.

Hunting: Deer, turkey, and small game hunters. Woodcock hunters may find a decent number of birds in low-lying wetland habitats.

Hiking: From Mountain Road there are many dirt roads that can be hiked through and to several propagation areas. The eastern perimeter, which is tucked into a bend of the Conodoguinet Creek, hosts eight waterfowl propagation areas totaling 156 acres. The first right leads to Bridgewater Road and loops around five separate pond areas. Taking Game Lands Road off Bridgewater Road will lead to several different dirt roads leading through the food plots and to the lake areas. If you continue down Mountain Road you can turn right onto Park Hill Road and there are two trails that lead around food plots set up in the area. Miles of trail: 3+

Bird and Wildlife Watching: Many species of wildlife are drawn to this highly diverse area including Osprey, American Bittern, Snow Goose, heron, egrets, Woodcock, white-tailed deer, and several species of turtle, migratory warbler, raptor, heron, and duck. Migrating shorebirds such as Greater Yellowlegs and Solitary Sandpiper, are drawn to the ponds and exposed mud flats in mid- and late-summer.
