Whether you're looking for a souvenir or shopping for yourself, you have a lot to choose from in Cumberland County. From antique and specialty shops to farm markets and malls, there is something to suit every taste and budget.

Carlisle
The main shopping areas in historic downtown Carlisle are North Hanover Street, West High Street, and Pomfret Street. Here you'll find shops specializing in clothing, antiques, jewelry, fine art, crafts, gifts, and new and used books. The Cumberland County Historical Society at 21 N. Pitt Street has a gift shop with a selection of history related items. The Pomfret Street Parking Garage provides parking within easy walking distance of the shops.

Boiling Springs

The charming village of Boiling Springs, five miles east of Carlisle , has several unique shops. The Village Artisans Gallery on Walnut Street is located in an old church and sells fine art, prints, folk art, stained glass, handmade jewelry, and clothing. The studio of award-winning wildlife artist Gerald Putt is located on Front Street, and Yellow Breeches Outfitters, at the edge of the lake, sells Orvis clothing and fishing gear.

Shippensburg

The first block of East King Street is the main shopping area in Shippensburg. Here you will find a used book store, a gourmet coffee shop selling specialty foods and gifts, and the East Meets West Emporium, a lovely shop selling clothing, jewelry and gifts. Make sure to stop at the Lollipop Shop on East King Street. They have a tantalizing assortment of homemade candies and fudge.


Mechanicsburg

Mechanicsburg, a Victorian town located between Carlisle and Camp Hill, has several unusual shops. Fairey Godmother's, on Main Street, is a vintage clothing shop filled with a vast assortment of men's, women's, and children's attire. On South Market Street you'll find a Civil War themed store, an art gallery, and The Rosemary House that sells medicinal herbal extracts, fragrances, books, and dried flower arrangements. If you love mysteries, then you'll be delighted to discover a book store on the outskirts of town that is devoted solely to that subject. Two large nurseries, Ashcombe's and Country Market, are nearby. Each has a large assortment of gourmet foods and gifts.

Camp Hill

Several shopping centers are located on Rt. 15 at Trindle Road and Rt. 11 (Market Street) in Camp Hill. If you continue down Market Street to the old section of Camp Hill you will find the William Ris Gallery, antique shops, boutiques such as Creative Elegance, and a great selection of specialty shops.

New Cumberland

Clustered in the 300 block of Bridge Street in New Cumberland are shops selling clothing, gifts, jewelry, and imports from Ireland , Scotland and England. Don't miss a stop at Dingeldein's Bakery, even if you only look in the window.
