Market Street:
2nd Floor Gallery [105 S. Market St; 717-697-0502], located in an 1859 historic church, boasts fine art by national and regional artists. Across the street is The Rosemary House and Gardens [120 S. Market St; 717-697-5111], offering a great selection of tea and herbs, and a lovely garden. Also take a peek at Providence Boutique [102 S. Market St; 717-697-3640], an organic and natural fibers clothing shop, and Civil War and More [10 S. Market St; 717-766-1899] is a small gem packed with an eclectic selection of Civil War merchandise, and staff knowledgeable on local Civil War history.

Main Street: Gallerie Thirteen [13 E. Main St; 591.6940] is a metropolitan gallery featuring over 6,500 sq. ft. of fine art, crafts and jewelry, and 11 artist studios. Across the street is Eckels' Drugstore [36 E. Main St; 717-697-8404] - used as the ice cream parlor in the movie Girl Interrupted. Head west and watch a master craftsman build a violin at Hershey Violins, [11 W. Main St; 717-697-6341]. Next-door is Just Clogs, [15 W. Main St; 717-766-6092] featuring unique, comfortable shoes for all ages. The Fairy Godmother's Vintage Clothing store has an amazing inventory of vintage fashion. Cross the street and stop at the Potomac Bead Company [54 West Main St; 717-796-2323] and let yourself be tempted by the vast inventory of jewelry, beads and jewelry making supplies. Continue to Brittle Bark [215 W. Main St; 717-697-6950] and grab a tasty treat. Brittle Bark, featured on the Rachel Ray Show, crafts delicious varieties of peanut brittle, including Cherry Jubilee and Nutty Chai.

Eat
Need a break or a quick pick-me-up? Stop in next door at Warm Hearts Cafe [25 E. Main St; 717-697-1600; breakfast for two $10; lunch for two $15] for a cup of coffee and home baked cakes. For delicious Italian cuisine and a warm, friendly atmosphere go to Jo Jo's Pizza & Pasta [107 W. Main St; 717-766-8292; lunch for two $15; dinner for two $25].
