Messiah University

Messiah University is a top-ranked, private Christian university located on 471 scenic acres in Mechanicsburg. The school integrates rigorous academics and Christian faith to prepare its students for "lives of service, leadership and reconciliation in church and society." 

Founded in 1909 by the Brethren in Christ Church, the current student body and staff come from a variety of different denominations and Christian faith traditions. The college offers more than 150 undergraduate and pre-professional degree options and 27 graduate degree and certificate programs to almost 3,400 students. Messiah College announced on July 1, 2020, that it achieved university designation and changed its name to from Messiah College to Messiah University -- a change that reflects the multiple-school university structure and a mix of undergraduate and graduate programs that the school has had for several years.

In addition to seven academic buildings, 12 residence halls, and a library, campus amenities include access to the picturesque Yellow Breeches Creek, a covered bridge, the Oakes Museum, and the High Center.

While here, students can enjoy exploring the surrounding area which offers a number of outdoor recreational opportunities, shopping, and dining experiences. Downtown Mechanicsburg is a short five-minute drive while nearby Carlisle and Harrisburg are 15 minutes away.
