Serenade Returns
7 p.m. Thursday, June 23
Twenty-six dancers bathed in stunning, ice-blue tones of light come to life as George Balanchine's Serenade returns to the CPYB repertory for the first time in five years. His first original ballet created in America, Balanchine made a dance that would come to define a new kind of dancer - the American classical dancer.
Celebrating Hineline!
7 p.m. Friday, June 24
The Company celebrates 15 years of the works by Alan Hineline, CPYB's internationally regarded resident choreographer. Showcasing the artistic diversity of both the Company and its individual dancers, the evening's program includes a world premiere set to Beethoven's "Diabelli Variations" and the CPYB debut of To the Eternity. The rousing Roseland Pictures, performed to a live, nine-piece jazz ensemble, captures the energy and verve of the Swing era. The work's musical arrangement by six time EMMY® award winner Lanny Meyers brings big band and jazz standards to ballet with signature tunes of the legendary Duke Ellington, Billy "Sweet Pea" Strayhorn, Glenn Miller and more.
Last Dance/Last Chance

CPYB brings it 2010/11 A Season of Celebration to a close with encore performances of Balanchine's Serenade, Sean Lavery's Twinkliana, Hazel Sabas-Gower's Green, and Hineline's Sans Souci and Roseland Pictures - sure to bring audiences to their feet.
