CARLISLE, PA (August 18, 2011) - Cumberland Valley businesses are encouraged to rally their customers to vote them 2012"Best in the Valley". The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau (CVVB) began this program in January 2010 and crowned the visitor-voted best shop, restaurant and attraction last November.

The 2011 winner for shopping was the Village Artisans Gallery, for dining the 50's Malt Shoppe and the winning attraction was the Climbnasium. PJ Heyman, owner of the Village Artisans Gallery, fully embraced her victory and proudly displayed her "Best in the Valley" window cling and used the Best of the Valley logo in her advertising and social media promotions.

This year the CVVB has decided to add a lodging category. Customers can support their favorite place to shop, eat, sleep and see in Cumberland Valley by texting CVSHOP, CVEAT, CVSLEEP or CVSEE to 71297. They can then submit their nominations and leave a testimonial that could be published in the Cumberland Valley Visitors Guide. Visitors can also vote for their favorites online at www.visitcumberlandvalley.com.

Visitors who text their votes will then be signed up for biweekly text alerts including unique Cumberland Valley events and news. Participants may opt out at any time.

The 2012 Best in the Valley winners will be announced in November 2011. Winners will receive special CVVB recognition, be used in promotional materials and receive an ad upgrade in the 2013 visitors guide.
