Big Foot, created by Bob Chandler, is noted as the first monster truck.  What started as a promotional tool for him and his partner's Midwest Four Wheel Drive business evolved into a fleet of trucks recognized worldwide.  The original Big Foot debuted in 1979 at a car show in Denver, Colorado.  Its popularity yielded numerous appearances thereafter, sold millions of dollars in merchandise, spawned nearly 20 versions of the truck and is so rich in history that Big Foot's biography spans three pages on www.bigfoot.com.  Needless to say, Big Foot will pack the house.

Joining Chandler's truck will be Backdraft.  Backdraft sports a Dodge body with a fire truck design, complete with a fire engine red paint scheme.  This look is guaranteed to excite children of all ages.  Backdraft is a member of the Monster Jam circuit and is driven by Jeremy Slifko.  Prior to its Carlisle appearance, Backdraft has appeared at venues like Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, site of the most recent Super Bowl, Detroit's Ford Field, Tampa's Raymond James Stadium as well as smaller, indoor venues as part of the Monster Jam tour.

In addition to the four-wheeled monsters that are capable of high jumps and doughnuts, there will be another monster on site, a prehistoric monster named Megasauras.  Back by popular demand, Megasuaras not only crushes cars, but chews them up, spits them out and breathes fire.  Megasaurus dropped the jaws of kids and adults alike during the 2011 Carlisle Truck Nationals and the big metal machine aims to do it all over again in 2012.

Finally, adults and kids alike will enjoy a one-of-a-kind experience as Diehl Wilson brings his Virginia Giant ride truck to the Truck Nationals.  This truck looks and feels like your standard monster truck, except it has an elongated bed with seats, designed specifically for rides.  Not only will those who give it a go experience the feel of a jacked up truck, they'll also get to do something at Carlisle that isn't done anywhere else - ride over crushed cars.

All trucks will be in action in one form or another throughout the weekend.  Big Foot and Backdraft will square off, crushing cars in front of the main grandstand; Megasauras will chew them up, spit them out and breathe fire while the Virginia Giant Ride Truck traverses the grounds, entertaining the masses.  All drivers and trucks will be available for photos and autographs too.  The best way to experience all of the Monster Truck excitement is via the V.I.P.
