Joint Partnership Provides Co-Branded Lodging Reservations System

CARLISLE, PA (September 17, 2013) - For decades, Carlisle, Pennsylvania has been a destination for automotive enthusiasts, outdoor lovers and history buffs. Also, due to its college and military hot spots, the region has seen a large influx of friends, family and future community residents. While the reasons people come to the mid-state vary, the ultimate goal is to experience some aspect of central Pennsylvania. With growing interest in the Cumberland Valley, its destinations, attractions, shopping, dining and more, Carlisle Events and the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau (CVVB) have formed a lodging partnership.

The partnership strategically blends two cornerstone entities within the Cumberland Valley, the region's hot-spot destination for collector car excitement since 1974, and the county's authorized agency charged with promoting the Cumberland Valley as a travel destination. The CVVB will be Carlisle Events' exclusive booking/lodging agent providing visitors with online hotel booking capabilities, which was unavailable in the past. The CVVB's booking technology launched with their new website in 2012, providing travelers with one-stop booking and travel options.

As part of the deal, the CVVB will assume hotel and lodging advertising and sponsorship within www.CarlisleEvents.com. On February 1, car show enthusiasts will find a booking widget on www.CarlisleEvents.com that takes them directly to a co-branded lodging reservations page operated by the CVVB. On that page, not only will Carlisle Events' preferred hotels be showcased, but additional regional attractions will be highlighted as well.  This affords an out-of-town guest outlets to not only book a stay but also to view and review historical, cultural, educational and recreational trip ideas and events.

While booking a room and uncovering all that the Cumberland Valley has to offer is simplified through this new process, only those preferred accommodations will be displayed on the page. In order to become a Carlisle Events' preferred lodging partner for the 2014 season, contact Katherine Smith at the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau. Opportunities are also available for bundling representation on the hotel and lodging pages on both www.CarlisleEvents.com and www.VisitCumberlandValley.com, providing hotels with double exposure on high-performing websites.

"With Carlisle Events being a for-profit entity and the CVVB a non-profit organization, a joint venture such as this sends a positive message to the community and helps further the economic impact that is already seen throughout the year," said Shireen Farr, Director of Tourism. "Valuable demographic intelligence gathered through the reservation system provides both organizations the ability to better understand where visitors are coming from and what their interests are."

"We are pleased to support the CVVB's ongoing efforts in providing our car show enthusiasts and visitors alike with comprehensive destination information and online booking capabilities for the Cumberland Valley," said Lance Miller, Co-Owner of Carlisle Events. "Through this exclusive arrangement we're able to leverage each other's strengths to present our customer with a more efficient method to make their overnight stay arrangements."
