CARLISLE, PA - There is a family friendly aspect to every show at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, but there may not be a more family automotive-themed happening than the Carlisle Truck Nationals.  The annual August event takes place August 1-3 in Carlisle and just like it has in previous years, this year's show has everything a young enthusiast could hope for, plus the fun that keeps parents and enthusiasts coming back for more!

If truck weekend were a NASCAR race, you could say there are fun happenings from flag to flag.  It doesn't matter the day of the show or time of the day; guests of all ages are wowed by a massive array of trucks.  It doesn't matter if the trucks are lowered or lifted, monsters or mid-sized or even if they are the biggest of them all, big rigs; what the grounds at Carlisle offer is a truck-lovers paradise.  There are also cool vans onsite, a dyno machine, burnouts, beauty, live music and more.

Kids at Carlisle really love the monster trucks and the unique brand of destruction that each show provides.  Slated for the event are Virginia Giant and XXX - State of Destruction.  This is the first time at Carlisle for XXX, which is driven by West Virginia resident Chrissy Moller.  Moller is one of few female drivers on the Monster Truck circuit and she's squaring off against veteran Diehl Wilson of Virginia.  Wilson's a mainstay at Carlisle as he backs another popular attraction, the Virginia Giant Ride Truck.  Not only can kids enjoy edge of their seat excitement with truck competitions, they can get into a real truck and go OVER cars.

Live music graces both the Red 102.3 stage as well as within the Pavilion.  This serves as a perfect accessory to a day of fun onsite and within the pavilion, as a way to wrap a great Saturday as part of the Big Rig Glow Show.

On the grounds, the trucks available to be seen are just that, something to be seen.  The showfield hosts around 2,000 trucks but the word trucks also means that Jeeps come to Carlisle and that SUVs are on display too.  Trucks range from modern rides just off the dealer lot to classics that have either been meticulously kept or tediously restored and customized.  It doesn't matter the age, style or make of truck, if it exists, it can be seen at Carlisle.

Further, just to the southeast of the main showfield lies the Big Rig Show and Shine.   This feature hosts special trucks from the Elizabeth Truck Center, displays of tow trucks, box trucks and even classics from the American Truck Historical Society.  Much like the car-themed weekends at Carlisle and the truck showfield itself, the Big Rig corner of the grounds hosts an historical time line that must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.  Better yet, as the sun goes down, the rigs light up the Carlisle night with a special glow show.  They also have an awards ceremony early on Sunday to help wrap the weekend.   In addition, next to the rigs will be the always popular drop and drag completion as well as the showcase.

Truck owners who show at Carlisle also know how important it is to shop at Carlisle.  It doesn't matter if the parts are for a Jeep, SUV, big rig, light truck or heavy duty one, many restoration or customization pieces and parts can be found at Carlisle.  Returning is the LTAA, or Light Truck Accessory Alliance, and they'll have some of the hottest and most popular aftermarket accessories available.  Plus if showgoers are looking to enhance or restore their ride, they can check out the swap meet and Manufactures Midway.  The midway is loaded with industry-specific vendors like Ford Motor Company, Skyjacker Suspensions, Borla Performance Exhaust, Meguiar's Car Care Products and Mickey Thompson Tires just to name a few, while the swap meet offers a wide array of original items, memorabilia, accessories, etc.  Trucks are available for sale too via the truck corral and there is onsite financing to make the deal that much easier!

From shopping, monster trucks, special displays and more, the 2014 Carlisle Truck Nationals is a family outing that should not be missed.  Adult tickets run $10 daily, a three-day pass is $15 and children 12 and under get in free.  Plus, registration is available online now.  There is a pre-registration deadline and savings of 10% if done before June 30; however, registration is ongoing past that date too.  More activities will be added and complete details can be found at
