CUMBERLAND VALLEY, PA (August 4, 2014) - On August 30, 2014, the most colorful party will come to Carlisle Pennsylvania. The Color Vibe 5k will be held for the first time at the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center. Spaces are filling up quickly and 1,500 participants are already planning to attend this run and party.

Unnamed (3)Through a partnership between the Carlisle Barracks Morale, Welfare & Recreation, the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau, and the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center, Color Vibe agreed to add Carlisle Pennsylvania to this year's schedule and bring this colorful event to our area.

"Carlisle Barracks Morale Welfare and Recreation is excited to partner with Color Vibe and the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau to provide a very exciting event" said Christopher Reitman, Marketing Manager at Carlisle Barracks MWR.

The Carlisle course is anything but mundane. Participants can walk, jog or run through history as the route will include the Army Heritage Trail, which is accented by a Huey helicopter, M-46 Patton tank and outdoor exhibits from the French & Indian War era through the present, and the scenic landscape along the perimeter of the Carlisle Barracks Golf Course. "We look forward to a great event at the U.S. Army Heritage Education Center that can be enjoyed by people of all ages" said Reitman.

The US Army Heritage Education Center (USAHEC) is the premier facility for historical research on U.S. Army history and is dedicated to "Telling the Army story...one Soldier at a time."

Participants will experience a very colorful, fun-filled day that is more than just a typical run. The point of this event is not to race, but to literally become a canvas of color, to be active, and to share a life experience with friends and family. All attendees will be blasted at four color stations throughout this unique 5k run.

"We are delighted to assist with this new family-friendly event in Cumberland Valley," said Dawn Rickenbach, CVVB Tourism Development Manager. "We hope this unique setting for the Carlisle Color Vibe will become a mainstay in our area for friends and family to enjoy year after year."

On race day, there will be music in the air and an MC that will pump everyone up and lead the crowd with stretches and dancing. The countdown begins and participants take on their colorful adventure.

At the end of the race, a DJ and MC await to get the party started and everyone can celebrate by dancing and more colorful fun.

Registration includes entry in the 5k Color Vibe Run, official Color Vibe t-shirt, Color Vibe color pack and a Color Vibe prize. If you would like to participate sign up fast, because spots are filling quickly and there are a limited number of shirts available.
