CARLISLE, PA (June 22, 2010) - The Official Best Of is featuring the state of Pennsylvania this year and Cumberland Valley has been nominated as the "Official Best Family Weekend Destination" for Pennsylvania 2010!

The Official Best's research department chose Cumberland Valley to be featured in their upcoming USA's Official Best of Pennsylvania television show, produced by Media World USA. The research staff studies online travel sites, state tourism information, CVB resources and other sources to determine whether an attraction merits the "Official Best" distinction.

They are profiling 12 destinations in various categories that will be highlighted in a 30-minute television production, with each group receiving a two-minute segment on the show. Airings of the show will be seen on CBS July 24th and on the Travel Channel July 23rd. The Official Best Of from Hollywood, CA is sending out a representative to film the area on June 25th. The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau (CVVB) has put together an itinerary highlighting the county's best family assets for the filming. They will be visiting the Appalachian Trail Museum, Army Heritage & Education Center and West Shore Farmers Market, among other locations and downtown communities. Be on the lookout for The Official Best driving through your area!

The CVVB is excited about this acknowledgment and looking forward to gaining the B-roll for the use of future video promotion and advertisements. "This is a fantastic opportunity for our area to be seen by potential visitors that have not yet heard of the Cumberland Valley," said CVVB Marketing Manager Valerie Copenhaver, "we are very excited to see the special on TV and are happy our family-friendly assets are receiving the recognition they deserve."

The mission of the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau is to promote Cumberland Valley as a tourist destination, attract visitors to the area, enhance the visitor's experience, and to encourage and promote overnight stays.
