CARLISLE, PA (November 22, 2011) - The Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau (CVVB) announced the winners for the 2012 Best in the Valley at the annual Cumberland Valley Tourism Conference on November 9, 2011 at the U.S. Army Heritage & Education Center.

The CVVB has been collecting votes throughout the year for the best spot to eat, shop, sleep and see and do in Cumberland Valley. Voters were encouraged to text their votes to the CVVB or cast their vote online. Tabletop displays were placed at Cumberland Valley businesses encouraging visitors to vote. The CVVB also placed ads in local magazines asking residents to vote for their favorites.

Votes were collected September 2010 through September 2011.

The 2012 Best in the Valley Winners are:

Best Restaurant (Eat) - The Pizza Grille: Family-owned restaurant, with locations in Carlisle, Camp Hill and Lemoyne, with a menu offering a wide variety of specialty pizzas, salads, sandwiches and entrees.

Best Shop (Shop) - The Village Artisans Gallery: Downtown shop in Boiling Springs offering a wonderfully eclectic selection of fine art & craft created by more than 200 American artists with emphasis on work created in PA.

Best Attraction (See) - Allenberry Theatre: A professional theatre in Boiling Springs performing musicals, comedies, dramas and the world's longest running murder mystery weekends.

Best Lodging (Sleep) - Wingate by Wyndam in Mechanicsburg: An array of complimentary amenities and newly remodeled oversized rooms make the Wingate a top choice for business and leisure travelers.

The 2012 winners will receive an ad upgrade in the 2013 Cumberland Valley Visitors Guide, dated window clings, acknowledgement as "Best in the Valley" in the 2012

Cumberland Valley Visitors Guide and special credit on the CVVB's Website and other marketing materials throughout 2012.

The 2012 winners will also receive a few bonus prizes. These include recognition on five Cumberland County billboards in November and December and recognition in advertising for the November issue of Central PA Magazine and the December issue of Harrisburg Magazine.
