NEW CUMBERLAND, (June 22, 2011) - Madeline Reilly will arrange her watercolor and acrylic landscapes and florals in the Charley Krone Gallery during the month of August.  Viewing the Daily Painters of  Pennsylvania website one can see the variety and depth of her works.  "Lewes Beach Scene" was begun plein air, but finished in the studio.  It won honorable mention in a Stuart, FL art show.

Many of her artworks begin from photographs Madeline has taken in Ireland, Florida, California, and Maryland.  An October 2009 family wedding in Ireland resulted in "Irish Landscape" and "Irish Scene with Sheep".  She has been creating with watercolors for about ten years. She has enjoyed lessons with Jeanne Hartman, Earl Blust, Nick Fehr, and Maggie McCarthy.  She has attended numerous workshops, both in Harrisburg and the state of Florida developing her craft.

She has been in the Harrisburg area for 40 years, having transplanted from New York and New Jersey.  She retired from the nursing profession and Home Health Services for Harrisburg Hospital in the early nineties.  The library gallery is pleased to have Ms. Reilly as a first time exhibitor.

First Floor Showcase

Mary Hollis, retired reference librarian, will arrange the 1st Floor Showcase with her eclectic custom crafted fashion and baby doll fashions and accessories.  The exhibit will include a diorama entitled "Pretty in Pink" and a doll dressed in the folded pages of a book.
