CARLISLE, PA – The National TV spotlight shines once more on Carlisle, Pennsylvania and the Carlisle Fairgrounds as a production team from Discovery’s Velocity Channel returns to highlight the thrilling swap meet action in America’s Automotive Hometown and Carlisle Events’ flagship event, Fall Carlisle. Fall Carlisle runs September 28 to October 1, 2016 and at this year’s event, the popular program South Beach Classics starring Ted Vernon will capture the fun that is Fall Carlisle.
Not only will Vernon come to Carlisle, but so will his film crew from Accord Productions. Of course without a larger than life personality like Vernon, Accord’s cameras would just be shooting one of the biggest automotive events in the world. Having Vernon at Carlisle takes a great event and makes it even better with his unique presentation style, look and enthusiasm.
Ted Vernon the man is a classic car dealer in south Florida. He has a unique look and an even more unique personality. That personality makes Ted Vernon the TV show host must watch TV. Ted takes his TV team with him as he buys and sells cars, visits car auctions, events and specialty locations featuring rare, one off items.
Since Fall Carlisle offers nearly every one of the aforementioned options, Vernon and his team are coming to Carlisle for the first time ever to highlight unique aspects of the show, including the swap meet, car corral and a visit to the auction. Vendors at Carlisle are without a doubt the backbone of a show like this and hosting South Beach Classics will further promote the swap meet and showcase individuals who have helped keep Carlisle Events a viable player in the collector car hobby since 1974. This is also the second time Vernon and his team have done business with Carlisle Events, having previously showcased the 2015 Fall AutoFest in Lakeland, Florida. That event, which featured Burt Reynolds, was one of the highest rated Season 3 episodes of South Beach Classics.
Vernon will also make a stop at the neighboring Carlisle Expo Center for the two-day collector car auction powered by Carlisle Auctions. While he enjoys a great deal via handshake within the car corral, Vernon also likes to get into the auction mix just like the 1,000+ guests who make the Carlisle Auction part of their adventure at Fall Carlisle.
As mentioned above, Fall Carlisle launches September 28 and runs five days, through October 2. The event includes how-to seminars with metal fabricator Steve Mercurio of Pro Metal shop, a massive swap meet and midway for automotive pieces, parts and collectible shopping, plus the car corral for classics of all eras.
