CARLISLE, PA - When something goes so well that you can't wait to do it again as soon as it's over, you know you have a winner on your hands.  That is the case with the Carlisle Sports & Outdoor Show which is returning to the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds September 5-7, 2014.  As was the case in 2013, this year's show will feature dozens of hands on activities, numerous displays and overall, fun for the entire family with activities and events that are suited for sports and outdoor enthusiasts of varying skill sets, ages and interests.

Weekend action includes activities specific to those interested in hunting, camping, fishing and water/power sports.  With vendors and business onsite representing all aspects of the hobby, it makes Carlisle the perfect one stop shop for rods and reels, hunting equipment, tracking, excursions, power sports demos, educational seminars and more.

Many of the same partners from year one return for year two and that includes the likes of the Pennsylvania Outdoor Writers Association (Sportsman Auction), the hosts of the Pursuit Channel show World Went Dark Outdoors, Eagle Arms Productions (Gun Show), Boone and Crockett Club (Big Game Scoring), Cumberland Valley Chapter of Trout Unlimited (Fly Casting Challenge), Bwana Jim (Exotic Animal Showcase), National Wild Turkey Federation (Calling Competitions, 3D and Fun Shoot), Virginia Giant (Monster Truck Rides), Boat N' RV Superstore (Boat and RV Sales), Smith's Implements (Power Equipment Demos), the Pennsylvania Federation of Muzzleloaders (Knife and Tomahawk Throwing/18th and 19th Century Rendezvous), PA Game Commission (Hunters' Safety Courses), Capital City Bassmasters (Casting For Kids Contest), Susquehanna Waterfowlers (Calling Competitions) and Village Restorations & Consulting, Inc. (Home Restoration and Building).

There are also activities like dog training, antler shed retrievals, snake handling, a catch and release trout pond for kids, a very cool vintage camper display, world champion Frisbee dog fun with the Disc-Connected K9s, a swap meet for used and new gear, a corral for selling hobby-specific items like RVs, tractors, boats, ATVs, UTVs, etc., and you can even book excursions at Carlisle.  Last but certainly not least, along with the Frisbee dogs coming to the show for the first time, Carlisle Events is pleased to welcome Bill Wheeler of the Keystone Reptile Club as he will host discussions on venomous and non-venomous critters and even allow for hands on time for show goers of all ages.

"After year one, we have a better feel for what the event is all about and we hope those who missed out on the first-year fun will find time to experience it this year in September," said event manager Scott Amig.  "The activities, guests and hands-on options for everyone make this show one of the most interactive of its type anywhere and it's certainly the type of show that must be experienced firsthand to fully appreciate it.  You can learn about all aspects of the hobby and do it for just $10 per person per day.  Kids 12 and under are free and along with that, nearly everything onsite is free to experience too," continued Amig.  "I urge everyone to visit our web page to learn on their own just how great a weekend this will be."

Vending space reservations are being taken now by Carlisle Events as are expressions of interest for anyone looking to showcase something special specific to the show.  Complete details are found at or by calling 717-243-7855.
