Performance & Style 2013 Promises a New Level of Excitement
CARLISLE, PA - In one form or another, the first specialty (car) show annually at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds has typically been Carlisle Performance & Style. Since its inception in 1996, the May event has showcased the hottest trends in the automotive industry and has annually evolved with the ever-changing face of the hobby. This year's event, May 11-12, will continue the tradition of revving up the Carlisle season and will do so in ways not seen before at a P&S event.
First and foremost, the lay of the land will literally be flipped. Enthusiasts coming to Carlisle will find a majority of the showfield and midway area located on the south side of the grounds, between the food court and the community side of the fence line, or between gates 1 and 2 on the west and 6 and 7 on the east. This move was made to best accommodate attendees and the ever-growing demand for a more compact and tightly knit showfield. NICOFest, with its autocross and drifting exhibitions, will remain on the north side of the grounds, while general parking will inch closer to the heart of the showfield. Drive through judging will also return in 2013.
New to Carlisle in '13 will be select halls of excellence. These areas will highlight the best European, Domestic and Asian vehicles in the region. The European cars will be positioned within Building T, the Domestic cars will highlight Building Y and the Asian cars will draw crowds to Building Z. One of the more exciting ventures in 2013 will be the assembly of an all Women's Invitational Display. This display, which will be positioned within Building R, is open to females who own, build and drive their show worthy rides.
In addition, familiar competitions return, such as burnouts, beauty, audio and more. Along with welcoming back the NICO Club, America's Automotive Hometown also welcomes JUNKSTYLES/LOWLIFESTYLES stance display, the TJIN Road Show and radio controlled drifting courtesy of Driftsylvania. These guests and event enthusiasts will have the chance to interact in one of a kind atmosphere at Carlisle.
Another aspect of the event that is confirmed, but still in the planning stages, is a Friday kickoff party. The time and location is still to be determined, but this, much as it has in years past, will serve as a great way to jump start festivities. Additional guests, attractions and features are being planned as well. When they become official, they'll be announced via the Carlisle Performance & Style Facebook page as well as the event web page, accessible via www.CarlisleEvents.com. Anyone who is interested in attending the show as a patron, vendor or showfield participant should contact Carlisle Events today at 717-243-7855.
