CARLISLE, PA (February 27, 2013) - Farmers' market season is just around the corner! If you're considering participating in a market this year or continuing to sell your goods directly to the consumer joining Penn State Extension's Farmers' Market Managers Conference is a great way to start!
Take a positive step towards improving your bottom line! Learn useful skills and updates that will help you make your farmers market even better. You need not be a market manager to attend! Vendors, volunteers, board members and the public can benefit from learning how to improve your community's farmers' market!
The farmers' market trend is increasingly being recognized as a boost to local economies. Join Penn State Extension on March 26th from 9am-4pm to learn how your market may be improved! Topics will include record keeping and budgeting, using SNAP at your market, farm inspections, food law and regulations, trends in farmers' markets, and market promotion. This event will be held in two locations and connected via the internet so information may be shared across the state. Please join us at either our Gettysburg or Exton, PA locations. Registration is $20 per person and includes lunch. Please register at http://farmmarketmanagers.eventbrite.com or by calling Jodi Gauker at 610-321-8226.
