I have been living in Cumberland Valley for almost an entire year, but it wasn't until a few weekends ago that it occurred to me that I don't travel nearly as much as I could. The thing is, due to our location, Cumberland Valley is an awesome place to stay if you like to take day trips.  In an hour or less I could easily travel to the factory tours of York, the Amish Country in Lancaster, the Capital City of Harrisburg, the Chocolate Factory and Tour in Hershey, the battlefield in Gettysburg and any number of the lesser known attractions in between.
I decided to take a trip through Franklin County, and found myself visiting numerous country shops and a local winery in Chambersburg.  I was only gone for a few hours, but it was a relaxing way to spend my day.

Even better, our Visitors Center carries Visitor Guides for our surrounding counties, making a day trip as easy as picking up a guide and plugging in the address to your GPS.

Now that I finally realized what I was missing out on, I look forward to more day trips!
