One of my New Year’s resolutions was to incorporate healthier choices into my lifestyle. I’ve been passionate about yoga for a few years, but only recently started exploring other healthy living options. In business for 20 years, The Healthy Grocer in Camp Hill certainly lives up to its slogan to make healthy easy. They have a wide selection of high-quality, all-natural and organic alternatives including produce and groceries, nutritional and herbal supplements, personal care products, household cleaners, and on-the-go drinks and snacks. The store also has a sandwich and juice bar as well as a baked goods section. The selections can be a little bit overwhelming but the staff answered my questions and was able to make recommendations.
A little closer to home for me, I also shop at Appalachian Whole Foods in Carlisle. They have a small grocery/dairy/produce section at the front of the store, plus a nice selection of herbal
supplements, vitamins and essential oils. Toward the back of the store, there is a bulk foods section plus loose teas, herbs and spices, and coffee beans.
Am I eating healthier? Well, my favorite purchase in both locations is Chocolove’s Almonds & Sea Salt in Dark Chocolate bar, which may not be the healthiest choice but is definitely the yummiest! Some habits are hard to break.
