10. The Fantasticks

"Try to Remember a Kind of September." The world's greatest Autumn love story comes to Allenberry's stage for the first time in almost two decades. This charming story of star crossed lovers is the longest running musical in the world and has been an off Broadway perennial for 52 years. Come watch Matt and Luisa fall in love while their doting fathers play fun tricks to help bring them together. There is no better way to spend your Fall than with this fan favorite with such songs as "Soon it's Gonna Rain," "I Can't See It" and "They were You".

9. Farm Food Festival & Pizza Garden Party
It's the heart of the summer harvest season and we want to celebrate with you! Free farm games for kids of all ages (corn hole, washer board, ring toss, dime toss, "steer" roping, hula hooping contest and more...prizes too!) 8. 93rd Annual South Mountain Fair
A small county fair featuring rides for kids, barns filled with farm animals, many homemade needlework exhibits, photography, home canned fruits and vegetables, fresh produce and fruit, and beautiful flowers, all on display. In addition, there is nightly entertainment in the auditorium, a draft horse pull on Wednesday evening, a fireworks display on Thursday evening, and the antique tractor and farm machinery parade on Saturday evening.

The admission prices includes unlimited carnival rides and all entertainment. Children under 36" tall ride free.

6. Williams Grove 57th Annual Steam Engine and Tractor Show
The event will include steam traction engines, an old PRR steam train, antique tractors, working saw mill, model train exhibit, food, flea market stands, and live music. Some highlights include:

5. Color Vibe 5k
Get ready for the most colorful, fun-filled day of your life! You'll have more color on you than you can handle! The point of this event is not to race, but to literally become a canvas of color, to be active, and to share a life experience with friends and family. So get your friends and family ready for this amazing color blast event at the Adams-Ricci Park in Enola. You'll be blasted at four color stations throughout the awesome 5k run.
A typical race starts with packet pick-up/check-in the day before the event to alleviate congestion on race day. On race day, an MC pumps everybody up by leading the crowd in stretches and occasionally zumba. The countdown begins and color is thrown in every direction as all runners take on their colorful adventure! After finishing the race, join the colorful party of dancing, craziness, and color throwing.

4. 35th Annual Shippensburg Corn Festival
Shippensburg's downtown main streets are closed to vehicular traffic and transformed into a huge street fair for the day. Crafts, an antique car show, food booths, entertainment, and children's activities offer something for the entire family. There are more than 300 crafts and antique vendors. Food booths feature corn in every available form. Entertainers perform all day at three sites and there are a variety of strolling acts and demonstrations. The Corn Festival is easily reached off of Exits 24 and 29 of Interstate 81. Parking is available at the Shippensburg Fairgrounds located off South Fayette Street. A shuttle bus provides transportation from the fairgrounds.

3. McLain Celtic Festival
Join us once again for the 21st Annual McLain Celtic Festival. This is a great family-oriented event. There will be Highland athletics, events for children, Border Collie demonstrations, Irish and Scottish Dancers, re-enactors, Irish and Scottish musicians, bag pipes, kilts, vendors with gifts from Ireland, Scotland and Wales, and, of course, delicious food.

2. Corvettes at Carlisle
The largest and most fun-filled Corvette event in the world, the annual Corvettes at Carlisle event features more than 5,000 Corvettes representing all generations of America’s classic sports car. Corvette enthusiasm is contagious with participation in autocross, burnouts and the parade through historic downtown Carlisle. In addition to the Corvette giveaway, the excitement continues with an incredible shopping experience, including a huge swap meet with a wide variety of vendors, an all-Corvette car corral, Manufacturers Midway and Installation Alley.

1. Kevin James
Kevin James, producer, co-writer, and star of the hit comedies Paul Blart: Mall Cop, Zookeeper and the recently released Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2, can also be seen in the new ensemble sci-fi comedy Pixels. James began his career as a stand-up on the Long Island comedy scene. After being discovered at the 1996 Montreal Comedy Festival, he signed a network development deal to create his own sitcom. The King of Queens, which premiered in 1998, ran for nine seasons on CBS with James starring and executive producing, and it garnered him an Emmy nomination in 2006 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. The show concluded its run in 2007 but continues to air daily in syndication across the country and around the world. The Luhrs Center is excited to have the talented comedian, Kevin James, kicking off our 10th Anniversary season!
