One of the (many) cool things about Cumberland Valley is the variety of scenery. Although I spend most of time in the downtown areas, I occasionally like to venture out into the more rural areas of the Valley for some scenic driving on winding back roads leading in and out of the mountain.
Yesterday, I found myself on Pine Grove Road in Michaux State Forest near Pine Grove Furnace State Park. The road is so rural there wasn't a speed limit (that I saw) or even yellow lines on the road. I really enjoyed looking at the fall foliage as I followed the twisting, mountain road. The tree cover was so thick it was almost like driving in a tunnel!
Does anyone else have a favorite scenic back road?
