One of the great things about Cumberland Valley is that there are so many excellent colleges in the area. Being a student at Dickinson, I get a lot of first hand exposure to all the great activities that the area colleges have to offer. One of these activities occurred on Tuesday evening when the critically acclaimed writer, Margaret Atwood, spoke about her new work at Dickinson.
Before attending her talk, I was somewhat unfamiliar with Margaret Atwood's work. I knew from friends and acquaintances that she was a well-known writer who had published an astonishing number of texts. It turns out, however, that she is much more than that. Atwood has a witty, clever and sharp personality that kept the audience laughing for quite some time.

So, the next time you're looking for something to do in the Valley, don't forget to check out some of the events boards on the area colleges' websites. Everything is free, usually, and admission is open to anyone!
