My family and I took advantage of the "super moon" on Saturday evening and decided to go for a guided walk in the woods at Pine Grove Furnace State Park. About 50 people gathered at Fuller Lake for the start of our adventure. Our guide lead us to the Koppenhaver Trail and into the woods we went. The 1-mile trail offered a moderate hike that took about one hour to complete. It was fun to hear the sounds of nature and to listen to the running water of the nearby creek. Unfortunately, the "super moon" wasn't so bright in the woods but many of us brought along flashlights. My 11-year-old son particularly enjoyed shining his flashlight on the ground to find spiders. This was a unique way to spend a Saturday evening and it is one of the many free programs offered by the park.
