Although dining hasn't quite returned to normal, Cumberland Valley is excited to announce that residents and guests can now visit their favorite restaurants again for outdoor dining starting on June 5. And remember, if you are not yet comfortable with this option, our restaurants continue to offer takeout, curbside pickup, and delivery for your convenience. Many of them are also able to sell beer and mixed drinks to-go. We encourage you to contact the restaurant directly or check their Facebook page for additional information and to remember that outdoor seating is limited at these locations.
So you know what to expect, here are some protocols the must be followed for the health and safety of both customers and restaurant staff. Customers being served must be seated at a table; tables must be six feet apart.; no reusable menus; no self-service food or drink options; no condiments on tables; guests should wear masks when they aren't seated (except children under 2 and those with medical conditions); and employees must also wear masks. Indoor areas, including bar areas, remain closed to customers but customers are allowed to pass through the inside of a restaurant to access the outside or to use the restrooms.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board has streamlined its process for approving applications for extension of premises, which allows restaurants to serve alcohol outside their buildings. Therefore, you may see many of our restaurants get creative with their outdoor space, including setting up tables in parking lots, in front of neighboring businesses, or in streets (pending local government approvals).
Please be patient with staff as they adjust to these new rules and regulations.
