2. The Oak Ridge Boys' Christmas Celebration Tour

Every year The Oak Ridge Boys' Christmas tour plays to packed houses across North America. This year the group's widely acclaimed holiday show, "The Oak Ridge Boys' Christmas Celebration Tour 2017," will be coming to Shippensburg for an incredible night of holiday favorites and Oak Ridge Boys hits!

The show features nearly two-hours of holiday tunes as well as some of the quartet's classic Country-Pop hits, like "Elvira," "Bobbie Sue," and "Thank God for Kids." The full-production show with its beautiful sets, falling snow, and Christmas trees also includes a visit from Santa Claus, as well as songs from the group's six, bestselling Christmas CDs.

You don't want to miss this show! Once you've seen it, you'll want to make it a family tradition.

3. First Night Carlisle

First Night is a family-oriented, non-alcoholic celebration of the arts held on New Year's Eve on the streets of downtown Carlisle. It is a major visual and performing arts festivity created by and for the community to welcome in the New Year. It is a public celebration that revives the ancient tradition of marking the passage of time with art, ritual, and festivity in a present-day context.

Simultaneous and continuous performances of storytelling, street performances, live music, dance, theater, ice-sculpting and historical reenactments will take place in both indoor and outdoor locations throughout downtown Carlisle. A countdown to midnight and a spectacular fireworks finale concludes the festivity.

A First Night button supports the cost of the celebration and provides general admission to all events. Admission to indoor events is on a first-come, first-served basis.

4. Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet presents George Balanchine's The Nutcracker®

5. Roundtop + Troegs Present Ullr Fest

Roundtop is teaming up with Tröegs Independent Brewing for their 2nd annual kick-off to winter with a huge bonfire to appease ULLR, the Norse God of winter. Enjoy a great selection of Troegs winter seasonal beers and food specials.

7. The Raleigh Ringers: A Holiday Concert

The Raleigh Ringers is an internationally acclaimed concert handbell choir based in Raleigh, North Carolina. Since its founding in 1990, The Raleigh Ringers has been dazzling audiences with unique interpretations of sacred, secular and popular music, including famous rock 'n' roll tunes arranged just for handbells.

Under the direction of David M. Harris, The Raleigh Ringers has performed in 39 US states and the District of Columbia, in several cities in France, Canada, and the UK; live on the nationally syndicated "Bob and Tom Show" radio show; and on the "Hour of Power" at the Crystal Cathedral in California. The Raleigh Ringers has produced two PBS Holiday Specials that have been broadcast in 45 states and on over 250 PBS affiliates.

8. Holiday Exhibit: "Holly Jolly Christmas!"

9. The Best Christmas Pageant Ever The Musical

The Herdmans are the worst kids in the history of the world–so when they crash Sunday school and demand parts in the Christmas pageant, the whole town panics. There's not supposed to be biting or cigar-smoking in Bethlehem, and while these kids have never even heard the Christmas story, they definitely have rewrites! Soon everyone from the terrified pint-sized shepherds to the furious church ladies are calling for reluctant director Grace Bradley to cancel the whole thing. It's up to Bradley and the Reverend to help their community see the Christmas story and the Herdman kids through new eyes in this buoyant musical adaptation of the funny and touching holiday classic. Silent night? Not a chance. But sometimes a little joyful noise is just right for Christmas.
