American Craft Week is the nation's largest annual craft celebration with the purpose of raising appreciation for handmade American craft and helping to build the craft economy. Cumberland Valley is rich in artists and artisans that will invite you in this October to witness their craft. The Fall Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet and Corral marks the end of the swap meet season each year and is an absolute must-attend event for thousands of enthusiasts who travel to Carlisle from all points of the globe to buy, sell and celebrate all things automotive. This is a fun-filled weekend the entire family will enjoy. While exploring the 150 acres and 8,100 vending spaces, you will marvel at one of the largest automotive swap meets in the world. Carlisle is the place to purchase any of the 2,000 vehicles at the car corral where you can slip behind the wheel and get a feel for the vehicle. Even better, you can deal directly with the car owner to work out the best price. This is where you can buy, sell and trade with total confidence.

This annual event features food and craft vendors, live musical entertainment, environmental education programs, historical demonstrations, hayrides, pumpkin carving, scarecrow making, kid's crafts and campsite decorating. Come Saturday evening for the famous Hairy Hand and Pumpkin Float on Fuller Lake. There is no charge to enter the park and attend the festival itself.

This is a great opportunity for the military community to interact with the public in a positive and fun venue. Many service members have spent countless tours of duty in Germany and reflect fondly on their time abroad. There will be entertainment, games, activities, carnival rides, and the unveiling of the official brew of the Army War College in the beer and wine garden. There will be numerous food vendors as well as an indoor arts & crafts fair (Saturday only).
Visitors can also choose to participate in a variety of contests including a stein holding contest, a kids' apple pie eating contest, a keg toss, a wife-carrying contest, a hot dog eating contest, and a sauerkraut eating contest. Visitors enjoy free admission. There will be a free shuttle and taxi service with stops at Keystone Arms, Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle High School, Dickinson College, and Comfort Suites Downtown Carlisle.

Meadowbrooke Gourds has planted about 75 acres of sunflowers that are expected to be at their peak for this festival. The best part is that you can pick them for free! This event will also have the last Oops Sale for the year where you can get some of your favorite designs at a big discount. There will also be horse-drawn wagon rides, Nomad Cuisine will be serving food, and the Warehime's Pumpkin Patch is right down the road for pick-your-own pumpkins.

An old-fashioned, fun-filled, family event.
