8th Annual USAHEC Re-enactor Recruitment Day
The U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle, PA is pleased to invite re-enactors, living historians, and the public to attend the 8th Annual Re-enactor Recruitment Day! The event serves as a "meet and greet" for living historians to interact between their organizations and for the public to learn more about the periods each group represents. In addition, the Recruitment Day provides a great opportunity for re-enactors to recruit to fill their ranks with history buffs! This year, the USAHEC will feature live living history programs and an extended display booth area.
Re-enactors and those interested in living history are encouraged to visit and interact with living history organizations who are looking for new members or are just looking to get the word out about their organization. A range of historical periods will be represented, from the 17th century to the 20th century. Participating organizations will have representatives on hand to answer questions about their period and to provide information about re-enacting.
There will be a special lunchtime lecture from Chris Formant, author of Saving Washington, the forgotten story of the Maryland 400.
