The USAHEC hosts an annual timeline living history event, Army Heritage Days, which examines nearly every era of U.S. Army history. As part of Army Heritage Days, the USAHEC hosts many specialized events, including workshops, demonstrations, reenactments, and Veteran "meet and greets," both outside on the mile-long Army Heritage Trail and inside the Visitor and Education Center.
In 2022, USAHEC will host a two-event program taking place on Sept 10-11 and October 15-16, 2022. One event focuses on the development of the US Cavalry (Revolutionary War – Air Cavalry), and the other focuses on the development of Armor and Artillery.
October 15 & 16: U.S. Army Armor and Artillery
The second Army Heritage Days Weekend features LIVE running World War II-era tanks and LIVE artillery firing demos. The event will also include living history displays, current-serving military equipment, historic weapons demonstrations, history-based STEM experiences such as a World War II coastal artillery station, and interactive tours of U.S. Army history.
The event continues inside the Visitor and Education Center, where visitors can participate in our very popular Veterans Meet and Greet and explore our indoor museum exhibits. Don’t forget to grab lunch at one of the many food vendors throughout the event, visit the museum store, and partake in the Army Heritage Center Foundation’s massive book sale. Parking is free, and the USAHEC facility is handicapped accessible.
