Beginner Pilates Chair Workshop
Join Adrienne for an introductory workout through some of the foundational exercises on the Pilates chair.
Joseph Pilates originally designed the chair as a home exercise machine for New York City apartments. Early designs converted easily from a chair you could sit on to a wunda chair you could perform exercises on. It is considered one of the more difficult pieces of equipment to master because of its small size and limited support.
The emphasis in the workshop will be on learning the fundamental Pilates exercises on the chair with special attention to proper alignment and technique, as well as how to safely set up and transition the springs.
Some prior Pilates experience on the mat or other equipment is strongly recommended but prior chair experience is not required. Get ready to challenge your core and balance in a whole new way!
