Brethren to Perform Carlisle YWCA Benefit Concert
BRETHREN, a Christian male vocal ensemble composed of professional, military, and church musicians from the Northern Virginia/Washington, D.C. area, will perform a Benefit Concert for the Carlisle YWCA on Sunday, November 6 at 7 P.M. at First Lutheran Church, 21 S. Bedford St., Carlisle. The concert will be presented in memory of Nancy J. George, a member of First Lutheran who was a dedicated community leader and staunch supporter of the YWCA. All proceeds raised at the performance will support the organization's mission to provide programs empowering women and children. Brethren will sing music ranging from the Renaissance era to traditional hymnody, spirituals, patriotic standards, and southern gospel. Their latest album, "Prayers and Praises", is a compilation of some of the best choral writing penned for men's chorus in the last 100 years. Go to www.brethrengroup.com to hear their music. Sponsored by Fine Arts at First, admission is free. Call the church, 717-249-3310, or visit www.firstlutherancarlisle.org for more information.
