Bridgefest 2018 is both a hands-on workshop with an educational opportunity that is also a celebration. We are celebrating preserving this historic bridge as a heritage bridge park.
Wanted: 4-6 masons or apprentices that want to have a training session with LimeWorks.us and Andy DeGruchy. There is a cost for the training workshop. Masons will learn about repairing an 1880 stone abutment by removing earlier concrete repairs, assessing damage and designing strategies for the Scope of Work and Estimate for the repair to the abutments. Repointing and continuing to remove loose materials will be the task of the day. The base of the bridge is the first in the steps for preservation for this bridge. The cost for the training by LimeWorks.us is $275. Sign Up at www.workinbridges.org and follow the links. Your donation is a tax deductible.
Interested students or any locals that may want to watch, listen and learn a craft can also have the opportunity to learn from master craftsmen some tried and true masonry techniques and be a part in the preservation of this historic bridge. Please sign up on our web site.
