Carlisle Indian School Outings in Boiling Springs

Carlisle Indian School Outings in Boiling Springs

Overview
Locations

During the years the Carlisle Indian Industrial School operated in Carlisle (1879-1918), many students, staff and teachers took excursions to Boiling Springs for hikes, picnics and outdoor recreation by the lake. But there was another form of "Outing" happening among Carlisle Indian Industrial School students - in which they wre placed in families and on farms as part of their training.
