Carlisle Indian School Sports Exhibit
Come learn about the introduction of sports at the Carlisle Indian School and its impact on the Native Indian community! This exhibit runs features three text displays with postcards of the Thorpe Gym, stories from Carlisle Indian School graduates, informational reading. Founded on October 6, 1879, by Richard Henry Pratt, the Carlisle Indian School served as an educational institution for Native Indians from all over the world. It was deemed a model, non-reservation school for other institutions around the globe. No appointment is necessary. On display from October 1 to October 31 in the front lobby.
