Dickinson College Farm Tours
The Dickinson College Organic Farm is offering free tours to the public on Saturday, October 28, between 10 a.m. and noon. The comprehensive walking tours begin every half-hour and last approximately 45 minutes. Appropriate footwear is recommended.
Participants in the tours will learn about the farm's vegetable production, livestock operations and renewable energy projects, including solar, biogas and biodiesel production.
The farm is a 50-acre living laboratory that is certified organic with more than 15 acres of vegetable production ground and 18 acres of animal pasture. It supports the academic interests of students and faculty, promotes renewable energy and builds a greater awareness about how food is generated using techniques that help sustain the natural ecosystem.
All tours start at the kiosk by the gravel parking lot. Please avoid parking on grass or along Park Drive, which limits visibility for other folks leaving the farm!
The Dickinson College Farm is a working farm. Parental supervision of children under the age of 13 is required at all times. Children may not move about the farm without appropriate supervision.
