Learn how to make luminous, textured paintings using encaustic paint. Encaustic is the art of painting with molten beeswax mixed with colored pigments and resin. The results look like no other type of medium, and once you learn the basics, there is no end to your creative possibilities.
You’ll learn all of the techniques to paint, produce transparent layers, collage, stencil, and add incised marks in an assortment of vivid colors. You will receive all of the materials necessary to make an 8 x 8” painting. In addition, we will cover setup and safety so that you can set up a studio in your own home.
