Encounters with History with Licensed Battlefield Guide Sue Boardman
This is a full-day outdoor program that will depart from the Museum and Visitor Center to Culp's Hill at 9:00 a.m. and return at 4:00 p.m. A boxed lunch will be provided. This tour includes a moderate to strenuous walk over Culp's Hill. The battle for the Union right flank on Culp's Hill at Gettysburg is often overshadowed by the better-known story against the Union left, but it is no less important. This tour follows Candy's brigade of the Union 12th Corps from their arrival on July 1 to their participation in burying the dead on July 5. Although mostly viewed from the perspective of the 147th PVI, all of the regiments in the brigade will be discussed.
