Do you want to write a book? Join the World Affairs Council of Harrisburg for an evening of discussion, guidance, and tips from Harrisburg authors.
Discover what it's really like to write a book from authors who've lived the journey. This forum brings together published authors from around the world to share their experience writing a book. Learn about the discipline of writing, overcoming creative blocks, navigating rejection and revision, and how to bring a book to life. These seasoned writers will share their personal stories of becoming an author.
Our diverse panel includes Hagir Elsheikh, author of Dreamer in Chains: Poems of Exile and Resilience; Guerline Laurore, who wrote Anca's Big Fight School for Every Child; Lola Bakare, author of Responsible Marketing: How to Create an Authentic and Inclusive Marketing Strategy; Sahiti Kulkarni, who wrote The Manhattan Algorithm; and Jesse Waters, author of So Let Me Get This Straight. Together, they represent a variety of genres, backgrounds, and writing experiences.
Books by featured authors will be available for purchase and signing.
The event is free, but we kindly request that you register.
