Kelsey Hightower, a principal engineer at Google, will deliver a virtual lecture presented by Dickinson’s Clarke Forum for Contemporary Issues. “From McDonald’s to Google,” will take place Wednesday, Mar. 3, at 7 p.m. in a public YouTube livestream.
In this session, Hightower will share his journey into tech and how he became one of the most respected individuals in cloud computing. Hightower intends to inspire his audience through appeals to each person's uniqueness to help them understand how to leverage technology to help shape the world. As a self-taught engineer, Hightower has long fought to open pathways for people to collaborate on common problems through technology.
Hightower has helped develop and refine many Google Cloud products including Google’s Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Functions, and Apigees’s API Gateway. He is also a co-author of the book “Kubernetes: Up and Running: Dive into the Future of Infrastructure.”
