Have you ever wanted to talk to someone across the country or around the world from your own home? What about an astronaut on the International Space Station? Want to learn communication skills that can save lives in emergencies? You can do all theseĀ things - and more - with ham radio! This course will teach you what you need to know to pass the Federal Communications Commission exam and show you all the fun you can have with ham radio.

Course Instructor: Robin Cartwright

Robin Cartwright, KC3CEK, first earned her technician license in March 2014. She studied and earned her general and extra "tickets" about six weeks later, although she does not recommend this. Her current interests are high-frequency operation, and DXing (contacting hams in other states and countries).

Registration required. Limited to 10 participants.

To register for a course or program (not all programs require registration; see individual descriptions for details) contact the Library's Information Services Department at 717-243-4642.
