Heroic musical portraits by Copland, Bloch, and Beethoven

Stuart Malina explores the theme of "heroes" in March with three remarkable and contrasting works. Bishop Nathan Baxter narrates Copland's A Lincoln Portrait to open the program. Bloch's dramatic tone poem, Schelomo with cellist Inbal Segev follows, and Beethoven's groundbreaking "Eroica" symphony brings us to a triumphant close.

  • Aaron Copland Lincoln Portrait, Rev. Nathan Baxter, narrator
  • Ernest Bloch Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque, Inbal Segev, cello
  • Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 3

You are purchasing a ticket to the Scottish Rite Theatre. Seating for this event is general admission.

Please note, due to continued concerns about Covid transmission, even among the vaccinated, the Harrisburg Symphony has adopted the following policy effective September 1. This policy will be in effect until further notice in order to protect you, our patrons, along with ensuring the health of our musicians, volunteers, and staff.

Patrons at HSO concerts will be required to provide proof of full vaccination, which is defined today as two weeks after the second dose of a two-dose series (Pfizer or Moderna) or two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (Johnson & Johnson's Janssen). All attendees must also be fully masked. Children under the age of 12 or others who are currently ineligible for vaccination are kindly asked not to attend at this time.
