Heroic musical portraits by Copland, Bloch, and Beethoven
Stuart Malina explores the theme of "heroes" in March with three remarkable and contrasting works. Bishop Nathan Baxter narrates Copland's A Lincoln Portrait to open the program. Bloch's dramatic tone poem, Schelomo with cellist Inbal Segev follows, and Beethoven's groundbreaking "Eroica" symphony brings us to a triumphant close.
- Aaron Copland Lincoln Portrait, Rev. Nathan Baxter, narrator
- Ernest Bloch Schelomo: Rhapsodie Hébraïque, Inbal Segev, cello
- Ludwig van Beethoven Symphony No. 3
