details

The Cumberland County Historical Society and the Penn State Master Gardeners are cooperating in a joint effort to celebrate history and horticulture with a program highlighting both. On August 2 at 5:30 on the grounds of the Two Mile House pollinator garden, they will be presenting a program, "Planting in the Shade". The featured speaker will be Gail Koll from New Bloomfield. She is a certified Penn State Master Gardener and certified master naturalist. With those dual talents, she brings together native plants and non-native plants in an effective landscaping balance, all in the shade. She is President of the Central PA chapter of the Hobby Greenhouse Association. A short presentation will highlight Two Mile House history and a discussion on pollinator-friendly gardens will also be given. Bring a lawn chair and any questions you may have. Two Mile House is located at 1189 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle, across from U-Haul (old K-Mart store)
