Intro to Screenprinting

Skill Level: Beginner
In this two-day class, students will learn introductory DIY methods to screen printing including learning the anatomy of a screen and basic required materials, proper form and three unique image-making techniques using silkscreen printing. Students will use this information to create their own silkscreen prints. After students leave this class they will have all the information they will need to start printing at home.
A materials fee of $20 is included in the tuition.
Additional supplies to bring:
11″ x 14″ pad of bristol board
A few spoons or spatulas
Blue painter's tape
A selection of paint brushes
About the Instructor: Henry Gepfer is an artist from Lancaster, Pennsylvania. He holds an MFA in Printmaking from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's degree in Art Education from Millersville University of Pennsylvania. In 2013, Henry was a finalist in the Print Center's 87th Annual International Competition and in the summer of 2015 he completed the College and Post-Graduate Apprentice Training Program at the Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has been a resident artist at Zygote Press in Cleveland Ohio and Sparkbox Studio in Picton, Ontario, Canada.
