Knife Skills & Smoking Al Fresco
Cooking outside has reached an all-time high. Smoking food has turned into a favorite pastime. Prepping vegetables and fruits is the fi rst step in preparing to add them to a smoker. The chef's knife is the blade shape used to do most of the chopping, slicing and dicing of these items down on the cutting board. The grip, the guide hands and the low push cut are the keys to mastering the chef's knife and making veggie/fruit prep an enjoyable and safe experience. Selecting tender, affordable cuts of meat to smoke on a Big Green Egg completes the smoked meal. The carving/slicing knives are the tools of choice to cross slice the meat.
