What: The Brothers of the Captain J.P. Brindle, Camp #50, of the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War will be gathering to remember and honor those who served in the armed forces of the United States during the American Civil War. During this ceremony, we will be dedicating a special marker on the grave of Private James K. Snyder, Company F of the 210th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry. Private Snyder enlisted in 1864 and served until the end of the war in 1865. He settled in Mt. Holly Springs after the war and was the last surviving Union Veteran from Cumberland County. His funeral, in 1942, was attended by numerous dignitaries, local officials, and members of the armed services and veterans’ organizations. We hope to have all those groups represented for this special ceremony.

Although this ceremony is focused on Private Snyder, its purpose is to remember all those who served and sacrificed to preserve the Union.

We hope you will be able to join us. The ceremony is open to the public. Please send any inquiries by email to: suvcwcamp50@gmail.com
