Live Blacksmith Demonstration
Before we were a state park we were Caledonia Ironworks. This village mined ore, melted it down to pig iron, and then created useable metal objects. It was such a labor-intensive process that it was cheaper and easier to use wooden pegs than to manufacture metal nails. Come see an actual blacksmith exhibiting a skill in which there is no app for that. Watch the iron glow red and then sizzle in the bucket of water.
