Making Botanical Ink Workshop

Create ink using plants and iron. We’ll create two inks: one gray/black from nuts or sumac and iron and a clear yellow from marigolds or turmeric. While the ink is cooking, you’ll create a sketchbook with drawing and watercolor paper to practice your penmanship when the ink is ready. Participants will leave with two bottles of ink, a calligraphy pen (pen holder and nib), and a 4” x 6” sketchbook they created.
